St Paul Hotel

Nestled within the storied district of Old Montreal, The St. Paul stands as a beacon of luxury in the realm of boutique hotels. Its opulent interiors, housed within a heritage Beaux Arts edifice, have undergone a recent transformation, enveloping guests in a sumptuous tapestry of graphic motifs, luscious hues, and resplendent gold accents.

The St. Paul's recent metamorphosis has garnered acclaim in esteemed publications such as Condé Nast Traveller and Style at Home, with Travel + Leisure bestowing upon it the prestigious honor of inclusion in their esteemed list of the 500 Best Hotels in the World.

Recognizing the pivotal role of art in elevating the guest experience, the discerning owner of this boutique gem sought out the expertise of O.A.C to curate a collection of artworks befitting the romantic ambiance of its rooms and suites.

The approach

Inspired by the luxurious materials and accessories curated by designer Kyle Adam Goforth, I envisioned a piece that echoes the romantic charm of Parisian boutique hotels. The artwork needed to embody a gentle, sensual, and minimalist aesthetic, akin to an artist’s sketch.

Ultimately, we selected a graphite diptych by Canadian artist Zoe Pawlak, which elegantly portrays the silhouettes of a man and a woman. In collaboration with Pawlak, we produced 75 framed reproductions, each adding a refined and intimate touch to the inviting ambiance of the St-Paul Hotel’s rooms.
