Whispering Stills

April 16, 2016 - July 09, 2016

A tale encaptured in a time capsule. In this exhibit, four young artists (all under 25 yo) confront us with an idiomatic vision, isolated from our reality. While we are enchanted and touched by these figurative worlds, the photographs reveal to us that art can be a social media of another kind. Curated by Nicolas Denicourt & Olivier Gagnon.

Pool, by Benjamin Lussier

“Pool to me is a film about self-awareness and the feelings of isolation it creates. I wanted to take this theme of alienation and push it to the extreme. That’s why Willem has a speech impediment. That’s why he speaks to the audience in a language very few people understand (Norwegian). That’s also why he’s rich and haughty. I think that’s the beauty of the short film format. You can get away with having a protagonist that’s more a concept than a realistic character.” - Benjamin Lussier
